Brazil’s Betting Boom: SBC Summit Rio 2026 Brings the Heat

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ SBC Summit Rio 2026 has just finished—and it is safe to say that it was on a different level this year. The event took place over three days, from March 3 to 5, at Riocentro, and it became a meeting point for everyone in Brazil’s rapidly expanding betting and gaming industry. Since the country’s new regulations are now fully implemented, this year’s event was not about speculating but, rather, about determining how to proceed.

The number of participants increased by 15% in relation to last year, which demonstrates that the Summit is for sure the venue for industry players. Some of the big names like BetMGM, SOFTSWISS, and Stellar Gaming were there, outlining their perspectives on the future. Besides that, there was quite a good mix, as quite a number of attendees (around 39%) were senior executives, which led to an overall increase in the quality of business dialogues.

Operators and affiliates were also well represented, with a breakout in affiliate attendance by a staggering 26%. The event exuded an international atmosphere—nearly 40% of the participants were from outside Brazil, having traveled from over 100 different countries. It goes without saying that the Brazilian market is attracting worldwide attention at an unprecedented level.

More than 250 speakers took part in the event, touching upon a wide variety of topics from leadership and marketing to regulation and technology. Besides, government officials and regulators participated in the discussion, pointing out the necessity of joining forces with the industry rather than working against it. That also explains why dialogues were quite intense yet hopeful, as they centered around the idea of sustainable growth and long-term stability.

Funnily enough, the Summit was not just about the professional, work-related atmosphere. Throwing into the mix different networking events, a mini food fiesta, and a beach party at the Rio Beach Club with the appearance of Brazilian football wizard Ronaldinho Gaúcho, attendees could fully enjoy the spirit of Rio. Exhibitors were greatly pleased with foot traffic and organizational matters after the final session.
